Maytag MER5750BA Range and Oven Repair

Most common issues on this model

Bake element that glows unevenly or not at all
Oven temperature that drifts from the setting
Oven sensor reading that does not match the cavity
Food that browns on one side only

This is the MER5750BA, a Maytag electric range. You may also see it with a finish or revision ending such as MER5750BAB, MER5750BAQ or MER5750BAW. Everything on it, the oven included, runs on electricity, which makes the oven heat a good place to begin when baking turns out wrong.

Uneven baking on a range of this type usually traces to the bake element, the oven temperature sensor or the control that reads it. We look at the element for blisters or breaks, measure its resistance, and check the sensor against a reading taken inside the cavity with a separate thermometer.

Only after those tests do we quote a part. The sensor or element we order is matched to the number printed on your range. You see the price in writing before work begins, and the labor is guaranteed for 30 days.

MER5750BAMER5750BA questions

How do you find out why my range oven bakes unevenly?

We inspect the bake element, measure its resistance and compare the sensor against a thermometer in the cavity. That separates a weak element from a drifting sensor, so you only pay for the part that actually failed.

Does a glowing bake element mean it is working?

Not always. An element can glow in patches yet deliver less heat than it should. We measure it rather than judge by color, and replace it only when the reading or the damage says so.

Are the MER5750BAB and MER5750BAW the same range?

They share the base number and differ in finish or revision. Many parts match but not all, so we read the plate first and order only what fits your range.
