Maytag MER6772BC Gemini Electric Stove Repair

Most common issues on this model

A cooktop where two burners go cold together
An oven showing a steady wrong temperature
A top element that cuts out after a few minutes
A knob that spins freely

Another Gemini model, the MER6772BC is a Maytag electric stove. Related versions carry endings like MER6772BCB, MER6772BCQ and MER6772BCS. It heats with electricity at the burners and in the oven.

When two burners go cold together, they often share a feed or a terminal, so we check the supply and terminals before the elements. An oven that is consistently off by the same amount has a sensor that has drifted, which is a simple adjustment or replacement. A top oven element that cuts out after a few minutes may be failing, or a connection may be heating up and loosening.

A knob that spins freely has a stripped stem, and we replace the knob or the switch as needed. We take the number from the label to match parts, give a written quote beforehand, and cover our work for 30 days.

MER6772BCMER6772BC questions

Two burners on my MER6772BC stopped at the same time. Why?

They may share a feed or terminal. We check the power supply and the terminal block first, then test the elements. A loose connection can cause both to go cold at once, and tightening it costs little.

My oven is always 25 degrees off. Can that be corrected?

Often. The sensor can drift with age. We compare the oven with a thermometer and either adjust the control or replace the sensor, depending on what the test shows.

A knob turns without clicking. What is the fix?

The knob's stem or the switch shaft is worn. We replace the knob first and the switch if the shaft is also stripped, so the burner responds to each setting again.
