What F03, F04 or F06 means
F03, F04 and F06 appear on Maytag built-in wall ovens and all point to the electronic control. For F03 and F04 the manufacturer names the electronic oven control, and for F06 the electronic control, in each case together with the associated wiring. The oven may stop heating or refuse to begin a cycle while the code shows. The oven is typically an older model that still cooks well otherwise.
Common causes of F03, F04 or F06
- The electronic oven control
- Wiring between the control and the rest of the oven
- Control behavior after a power change
1. Switch off the circuit breaker feeding the oven and leave it off for one minute. 2. Switch it back on. 3. Watch the oven for one minute to check that the code does not return. 4. Verify oven operation with a short bake.
- F03, F04 and F06 share the same area, so the digits do not tell us the exact part
- We test supply and wiring before the control itself
- Written price first, and a 30-day warranty on the work
Other Wall Oven codes
Are F03 and F06 the same problem?
They are close. F03 and F04 name the electronic oven control, F06 the electronic control. Both include the wiring, so we check both the board and the connections.
Can I keep cooking if the code clears?
If it stays away after the breaker reset, yes. If it returns even once, the control needs a test before it quits during a meal.
Do you repair older wall ovens that show F04?
Yes. We quote in writing and tell you directly if a repair does not make sense for the age of the oven.
Still seeing F03, F04 or F06?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
