What Code shown as "F" and a number, beeping (older wall ovens) means

This applies to older Maytag built-in wall ovens in the MEW5527, MEW5627, MEW6527 and MEW5630 families. When the control detects a problem it shows the letter F followed by a number and beeps. The use and care guide for these ovens says to press CANCEL first. If the code and the beeping continue, disconnect power to the oven, wait a few minutes, and reconnect it. These are older ovens still in many Houston homes, and we repair them. If the code returns, the number tells us where to look.
