What F0E7 means
F0E7 means clothes detected. It shows on Maytag front-load HE washers (MHW models such as the MHW3505FW) and on Maytag top-load HE washers with an electronic control (such as the MVW6230HW), including the older Bravos, Bravos X and Bravos XL era. You selected the Clean Washer cycle, and the washer sensed laundry in the tub, so it would not start the cleaning pass. The fix is usually just emptying the drum, and the code appears right at the start of the cycle.
Common causes of F0E7
- Laundry left in the tub when Clean Washer was selected
- A small item such as a sock sitting in the basket or door seal
- The load-sensing circuit, if the tub is certainly empty
1. Open the lid or door and take out all clothing from the washer. 2. Check the corners of the tub and, on a front-loader, the folds of the door seal. 3. Select the Clean Washer cycle again and start it. 4. If the code persists with an empty tub, call us.
- With an empty tub, the sensing that reads the load is the next thing to test
- A loose item can hide where a quick look misses it, and we search the whole tub
- Even on an older Bravos we try to repair first, but we speak up when the numbers do not work
Other Washer codes
Why did my washer show F0E7 when I ran Clean Washer?
It sensed clothing in the tub. The Clean Washer cycle must run with the drum empty, so remove all laundry and start the cycle again.
Does this code mean the washer is broken?
Usually not. It is a protective message. If you have emptied the tub and checked for stray items and it still appears, then the sensing needs a proper test.
Do you work on older Bravos washers?
Yes, they are still in many homes. We quote in writing before any work, tell you plainly when a repair is not worth it, and give a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Still unsure about F0E7?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
