What No Water Detected means
The message No Water Detected appears on Maytag front-load HE washers, such as the MHW6630HC and MHW8630HC. It is another way for the washer to say what F8 E1 and Lo FL say: the control is not detecting the correct amount of incoming water. While the message is up, the door may be locked and the control may seem unresponsive, which is why owners often think the washer has died when it is only waiting.
Common causes of No Water Detected
- Taps closed or only partly open
- Kinked or crushed inlet hoses
- Clogged screens at the hose connections
- The water level sensing or inlet valves, if the supply is fine
1. Press the power button. The washer begins a drain routine of approximately 8 to 10 minutes, and the pump runs continuously through it. 2. Wait for the routine to finish before touching the door. 3. Check that both taps are open and the inlet hoses are not kinked. 4. Start the cycle again.
- When the supply is good and the message returns, the sensing or valve circuit needs a test
- A locked door with no response needs the power cycled and the washer examined
- The price is in writing before we start, and we say plainly if an older MHW is not worth repairing
