The usual cause is the receptacle or the switch, not the coil. A loose socket arcs and cooks the coil's end, so we replace the receptacle and test the switch along with the new element.

Is it safe to use an oven where the bake element sparks?

No. Sparks point to a cracked or burned element. Turn the oven off and call us. We replace the element and inspect its terminals before the oven is used again.

How many versions of MER5730AA are there?
