The indicator on my YMER8880A burner stays lit. Is the burner still on?

Check that the knob is fully off. If it is, the light may be stuck, but a switch that fails to open can keep the element powered. We meter the switch to make sure the burner is truly off.

Why would only one end of the broil coil glow?

A break in the coil can leave one section carrying current while the rest stays cold. The coil is then at the end of its life, and replacing it is the usual answer.

Will a scraping door damage my oven?

Over time, yes. A door that rubs can wear its gasket and let heat leak. We check the hinges, adjust or replace them, and inspect the gasket for damage at the same visit.
