What 0E, 0g, 3E, 6E, E1, E2, E3, F1 E1, F3 E1, F3 E4, F3 E5 means
These codes appear on Maytag Commercial-Grade Residential dryers, the electric and gas models sold for heavy home laundry use. The brand gives no separate cause for any of them, so we treat the whole group as a control-level alert that is cleared by cycling power. On the display you will see the code, and the dryer may stop or refuse to start a cycle. Because the code does not name a sensor, a door, or a heater, a code that returns after a power reset is what tells us the control needs a proper look.
Common causes of 0E, 0g, 3E, 6E, E1, E2, E3, F1 E1, F3 E1, F3 E4, F3 E5
- Whether the code returns right after power is restored, or only partway through a cycle
- Supply voltage and breaker condition at the dryer circuit
- Control board connections and the wiring harness to the touchpad
- Whether a blocked vent or overheated cabinet is tripping the control
1. Switch the dryer's breaker(s) off and give it a full 5 minutes without power. 2. Restore power at the breaker(s). 3. Run a timed dry cycle and stay nearby for one minute. 4. A clean minute means the reset worked; a returning code does not. 5. In that case write down the exact characters and the time, and keep the dryer off until we check it.
- A reset only clears the display; it does not tell us why the control raised the code
- Several codes in this group share one instruction, so the exact code and its timing guide which circuit we test first
- We confirm the supply and the control inputs before suggesting any part, and you approve the written price first
Other Commercial Laundry codes
Does the power reset always work?
It clears the code in many cases, but a code that returns within the first minute or on the next load means the control still sees the same condition. At that point a live check is better than repeated resets.
Can I keep drying if the code disappears?
You can run a test cycle after the reset. If the code shows again, or the dryer stops mid-cycle, stop using it and book a visit so we can check it before the problem grows.
Is this a major repair?
Not necessarily. Because the code names no part, we test first and quote in writing before any work. Our repairs carry a 30-day workmanship warranty.
