MVWB850Y
Maytag Bravos MVWB850Y Washer Service Call
Most common issues on this model
- Water inlet valve and hoses when water does not reach the tub
- Drain hose and pump when the tub holds water
- Lid or door switch when the control does not respond to Start
- Cabinet leveling when the washer walks
MVWB850Y is a Maytag Bravos washer, with MVWB850YG and MVWB850YW listed as other endings. It is a separate base number from MVWB850W, and a part for one may not suit the other, so we match each one from the label.
Capacity and wash action are not listed for this number, and we do not add them. In most Houston homes a washer like this is in a utility room, and the first thing we look at is the water supply: the shutoff valves, the hoses and the screens at the inlet.
The plate and serial are copied in full before any order, so this model is never mixed up with the MVWB850W family. A written quote comes first. Our labor carries a 30-day warranty.

Is MVWB850Y the same as MVWB850W?
No. Both sit in the Bravos line but are separate base numbers, and a part that suits one may not suit the other. The full label is read before we order.
The washer will not fill. What do you check first?
We check that both shutoff valves are open, then the hoses and inlet screens. If water arrives at the washer but not the tub, the inlet valve is the next test.
Can you repair a washer that is several years old?
Yes. Most of our washer calls are on machines past their warranty. The quote is written first, and we tell you honestly when a repair does not make sense.
