What FC E6, FC E9 means
FC E6 and FC E9 appear on Maytag built-in wall ovens and refer to the Wi-Fi power module, or the wiring connected to it. That module supplies power to the Wi-Fi hardware. If it is not working, the control reports one of these codes. Wi-Fi is separate from baking, so the oven can usually still cook. Connected features, such as starting the oven from your phone, will not work until the module is working again.
Common causes of FC E6, FC E9
- The Wi-Fi power module
- Wiring and connectors to it
- The control reading the module
1. Leave the oven's breaker off for a minute. 2. Turn the breaker back on. 3. Check the display for a minute for either code. 4. If it is clear, test the connected feature, and bake as usual in the meantime.
- A reset can restore the module for a while without fixing the underlying cause
- We test the module's power and wiring before replacing it
- You get the price in writing first, and a 30-day workmanship warranty on the repair
Other Wall Oven codes
Is FC E6 serious?
No. It affects Wi-Fi only. You can keep cooking while the code is shown or after clearing it. A repair is optional if you do not use connected features.
Why does a Wi-Fi module need power?
It has its own power supply inside the oven. If that supply fails or its wiring loosens, the module drops off and the control shows the code.
Can I fix this by re-pairing the oven?
Re-pairing will not help if the module has no power. Try the breaker reset first, and if the code returns, we test the module circuit.
