The dS code on Maytag Neptune 27-inch front-load washers, the MAH8700A and MAH9700AW families built around 2005 to 2006, means the control reads the door switch as open while the door lock switch reads locked. The two signals contradict each other, so the washer cannot trust that the door is secure. As an older Neptune still in many homes, it may be showing its age at the latch. You see dS on the display and the cycle halts or will not begin.
