What FC E4, FC E5 means
FC E4 and FC E5 on Maytag built-in wall ovens point to the Wi-Fi antenna, or to the wiring that connects it. The antenna is what lets the oven's Wi-Fi module talk to your router. If the control cannot see the antenna correctly, it shows one of these two codes. Cooking functions are separate from Wi-Fi, so the oven can still bake and broil. You will lose connected features such as remote control or notifications from the app.
Common causes of FC E4, FC E5
- The Wi-Fi antenna
- Antenna wiring and connector
- The Wi-Fi module
1. Turn off the oven's breaker for one minute. 2. Turn it back on. 3. Wait one minute and see whether FC E4 or FC E5 returns. 4. If it is gone, try the connected feature again, and use the oven normally for baking.
- The antenna is inside the oven, so there is nothing for you to adjust
- We test the connection to the antenna and the module before replacing either
- Quote in writing before work, and a 30-day workmanship warranty
Other Wall Oven codes
Will moving my router fix FC E4?
No. The code is about the antenna inside the oven, not signal strength in your home. A better router position does not repair the oven's own antenna.
Can I ignore FC E5?
If you do not use connected features, you can often cook normally. The code only affects Wi-Fi. If you want the features back, we test the antenna circuit.
Do FC E4 and FC E5 mean the same thing?
The manufacturer lists them under one description, the antenna and its wiring. We check the same circuit for both and note which code you saw.
