Why does one gas burner keep clicking?
Moisture or spilled food on the burner cap or igniter is the most common reason. Turn the burner off and let it dry. If clicking returns, the igniter, the switch or the spark module is next on our list.
My smooth-top has a crack. Is it safe?
Spills can seep through a cracked glass top to the wiring, so it should be turned off at the breaker until it is inspected. We confirm whether the glass or the element underneath needs attention, and explain the choice.
Why does a burner stay hot or cycle on and off?
Radiant elements normally cycle to hold a temperature. If one stays at full heat or never reaches it, a worn infinite switch, a failed limiter or a control problem may be involved. We test each before replacing any part.
